As we offer our services to businesses in the EU, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to our processing of data of people in the EU (Art. 3(2) GDPR).
2. What we process
Server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (Cloudflare Pages), automatically processes technical data when you visit: IP address, date and time, requested page, referrer, browser and operating system, status code and data volume. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure (legal basis: our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare processes this request data for delivery and security purposes for a limited period, as described in its privacy policy and data processing addendum. We do not keep our own access logs. Cloudflare acts as our processor under its data processing addendum (Art. 28 GDPR).
Email and phone enquiries. The site has no contact form; the email button simply opens your own email program. If you write to or call us, we use your details and message to reply and, where relevant, to prepare or perform a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Emails to hello@spectostory.com are received by Porkbun LLC, 11575 SW Pacific Hwy PMB 40649, Tigard, OR 97223, USA (email forwarding), which forwards them to our company mailbox. We delete enquiries once they are no longer needed, unless statutory retention periods apply.
3. No cookies, no tracking, self-hosted fonts
We set no cookies, store nothing on your device and use no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. The Inter font is served from our own server, so no connection is made to Google Fonts or any other third party. The LinkedIn button is a plain link: LinkedIn receives data only if you click it.
4. Transfers outside the EU
We are based in the United Arab Emirates, for which there is no EU adequacy decision. When you contact us, your data is transferred to the UAE because this is necessary to handle your enquiry or take pre-contractual steps at your request (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR). Website requests are handled on Cloudflare's global network: pages are served from the data centre nearest to you, and Cloudflare processes request metadata in its data centres in the USA and Europe. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its data processing addendum also includes the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Porkbun (USA) relies on Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision for international transfers.
5. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict processing, to data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 15–18, 20, 21 GDPR). You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work (Art. 77 GDPR).
